    At Jack Finley Candle Co., your safety is just as important as creating a beautiful fragrance experience. Candles are an open flame product and should always be burned responsibly. Following proper candle care and safety practices helps prevent accidents, extends the life of your candle, and ensures the best scent performance possible.

    Candle Safety Guidelines

    • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

    • Keep candles away from children and pets.

    • Burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

    • Keep away from curtains, bedding, paper, and other flammable materials.

    • Always trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn.

    • Do not burn a candle for more than 3–4 hours at a time.

    • Stop use when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the container.

    • Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and debris.

    • Never move or touch a candle while the wax is hot.

    • Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.

    • Avoid burning candles in drafty areas near fans, vents, or open windows.

    Proper candle care not only improves safety but also helps your candle burn more evenly and last longer. For the best experience, allow the wax to melt completely across the surface during the first burn to help prevent tunneling and maximize fragrance throw.
